The Andreina project began with a clear intention: to create a premium visual identity that reflects both the elegance of Tuscan heritage and the innovative character of a modern alcohol-removed wine. My objective was to design labels that embody authenticity, refinement, and a warm connection to the region where the wine is produced.
Symbol & logo inspiration
A key element of the identity is the reinterpretation of an Etruscan lamp symbol, chosen for its historical connection to Tuscany and its association with light and warmth.
This symbol subtly echoes:
– the Tuscan sun, a central emotional anchor of the brand,
– the botanical softness of vine leaves and long stems
– the idea of tradition rooted in Italian craftsmanship.
Front label design
The capital letter A, designed with elegant loops and gentle curves, serves as a structural and symbolic anchor. Used in the background with a soft gradient, it creates depth and a relief effect that enhances the label’s sophistication without overwhelming it.
Typography choices & color palette
Typography plays a central role in the visual identity. The brand explores two typographic directions:
– A serif typeface (“Andreina”) with delicate curves, expressing elegance, finesse, and timeless premium codes.
– A bold sans-serif option, more contemporary and assertive, reflecting independence, clarity, and modern luxury.
Together, these typographic choices allow Andreina to balance tradition and modernity.
The final palette draws directly from the Tuscan landscape. Terracotta tones, warm and earthy. Subtle beige neutrals to bring softness. An orange-tinted gold used for the hot foil, echoing the warm glow and late-afternoon light of Tuscan sunlit landscapes.
Storytelling & emotional intent
The name Andreina is a tribute to the founder’s Italian grandmother, whose warmth and generosity inspired the spirit of the brand. This storytelling is carried through to the back label, where the narrative about Andreina, her Tuscan heritage, and the origins of the Syrah is displayed. It reinforces the emotional connection behind the brand and provides consumers with a meaningful glimpse into the family history that inspired the wine.
